Rhône Valley, FR

Bright and gluggable with hints of freshly picked blackberries and dusty black currants followed by a sprinkle of allspice, this is a refreshing Rhône blend with gentle, lingering tannins.

Drink with your heartiest white bean stew--beans, chanterelle and shiitake mushrooms, carrots, onion, garlic, celery, lots of spice (especially black pepper) and perhaps a little pancetta.  It won’t disappoint.

Light and earthy with dusty black currant & blackberry, drink this with grilled or stewed lamb--minted or goolashed--or alongside a lightly sweetened Morracan Tagine.

Duck confit and herb roasted potatoes need a little Tire Bouchon to cut the fat and bring a little tight, red fruit character to an unctuous dish

D’Ouréa sits in an area covering the base and slopes of the first Dentelles de Montmirail foothills. The villages of Beaumes-de-Venise and Vacqueyras are located to the south and west of Gigondas respectively and enjoy very similar growing conditions. The terroir here is characterized by a hot, dry Mediterranean climate and by the combination of limestone soils (on the Montmirail slopes to the east) and rocky, sandy, free-draining soils (on the flatter, lower-lying land to the north and west).

Adrien Roustan works with his fruit in whole bunches as much as possible.  After a light crush, ageing takes place in concrete tanks. Adrien's approach allows the pure fruit aromatics and complex site expressions to give these wines distinct character in the region. The wines are from high elevation sites and all have great lift, energy, and grace.
