2020 Radikon Sivi Pinot Grigio IGT Friuli
Radikon
Radikon originates in the town of Oslavia in Friuli near the border with Slovenia. The land has been in the family for generations and now consists of 17 hectares of local grapes including Pinot Grigio, Tocai (Friulano), and Merlot, among others, with some additional vineyards in Slovenia. As one of the most iconic, pioneering estates in natural wine, they are perhaps best known for traditional orange wines, made as they have been since the 1930s and known for their aging potential. No chemicals are ever used in the vineyards.
Sivi is made from 100% Pinot Grigio, fermented in oak vats with maceration lasting 10-14 days, followed by aging in 6000L French botti for a year on the lees. Unfiltered.
