Antonio Camillo Ciliegiolo 2020
Antonio Camillo
Working with predominantly older vines and grape varietals native to the Maremma, a coastal region of Tuscany, Antonio Camillo is first-and-foremost a farmer, then an old school producer eschewing modern trends, making low-intervention wines expressive of the terroir of the region, with a grace and delicacy that are proof of craft. This single varietal Ciliegiolo, meaning ‘cherry tree,’ is light to medium in body, with plenty of plum and, yes, cherry with a twiggy character and whiff of fresh herbs and spice. A go-to pairing with lighter Italian fare.
