Enderle & Moll “Pur” Muller Thurgau 2020
Enderle & Molle
Known as a cult producer of old vine pinot noir, Enderle and Moll are essentially a tiny production team of two, insulated from any of the trends or common wisdom of their neighbors in Baden, which is kind of the German flip side to Alsace, in that it is a blending of French and German wine culture. They work biodynamically with older vines, with limited intervention in the cellar. Their other claim to fame is that they made orange and skin contact wines before it was cool! They even bottled in clear glass with a plain beige label before that was even a thing. A 6-day maceration with the skins gives this Mueller-Thurgau a light grip and tropical flair with a citrusy bite and spice on the finish. Finishes with a vibrant acidity, making this a versatile food pairing or refreshing aperitif.
