Fattoria di Bacchereto "Sassocarlo" 2018
Fattoria di Bacchereto
From Fattoria di Bacchereto, a storied estate working in one of Italy’s oldest appellations, Carmignano (est. 1716), now run by Rossella Bencini Tesi who converted to biodynamic methods since the 2000s, the wines are a labor of love, hence “Terre a Mano.”
Sassocarlo is a skin-contact blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia, harvested late when the grapes are especially ripe and aged in old French tonneau barrels. Powerful, structured, and easy to drink with plenty of luscious, ripe fruit and a touch of oak and just the right amount of ‘orange’ for all types.
