J. Brix Chardonnay "Cobble + Sand" 2021
100% Chardonnay from Santa Maria Valley, from alluvial soils consisting of clay, silt, sand, gravel, sandstone, and river cobble. Fermentation in stainless steel followed by 16 months in mostly neutral French barrel. With a background in horticulture Jody Brix Towe and Emily Towe make precise wines of place. They are based out of San Diego and work with vineyards in the area but also source grapes throughout California.
