Mas Candi SEGUNYOLA Brut Nature Cava
While in Penedes most farmers sell fruit to large Cava houses, Mas Candi make their own wines from old vines inherited from family, while also eliminating use of chemicals in the vineyards. Likewise, the Corpinnat appellation was created by winemakers who felt that the Cava name has been diminished by industrialized schlock. A return to Cava like it should be!
Segunyola is a 2017 blanc de blancs-style made from 100% biodynamically-farmed Xarello, from 65-year old vines inherited from grandparents, fermented in stainless steel and aged on the lees for 4+ years. Disgorged June 2021. Quince and green apple, touch of grapefruit, toasty Champagne-like character.
