SARL Ecu VDF "NOBIS" 2020

Located in Muscadet, Fred Niger of Domaine de l’Ecu has helped to change how the Muscadet appellation is thought of today: with organic certification for the last 40 years, extensive lees aging, terroir-based bottlings based on soil type, and non-interventionist winemaking in the cellar, his wines are a far-cry from the schlock that Muscadet was known for in the past. 

For the Nobis cuvee, Fred sources Syrah grapes from the Southern Rhone from friends who share his farming principles. Fruit is destemmed, aged in stainless steel. Unfined / Unfiltered. It is an approachable and unfussy Syrah full of plum and blackberry and earthy brambles. A go-to for French Bistro-type offerings and fried chicken.
