SARL Ecu VDI "GLORIA" 2018

Located in Muscadet, Fred Niger of Domaine de l’Ecu has helped to change how the Muscadet appellation is thought of today: with organic certification for the last 40 years, extensive lees aging, terroir-based bottlings based on soil type, and non-interventionist winemaking in the cellar, his wines are a far-cry from the schlock that Muscadet was known for in the past. 

Gloria is made from 100% Vermentino sourced from the Cosimo Maria Masini estate in Tuscany. Once at Domaine de l’Ecu it gets 4 days maceration with the skins in amphora, followed by 9 months aging in amphora. A bright, aromatic, textural, and exceedingly layered Orange wine. Flower aromas lead into ripe citrus pith, bosc pear, and a long finish with a deep minerality and whiff of brine. No added sulfites. Unfined / Unfiltered.
