SEBASTIEN BOBINET 2021 Poil de Lievre Chenin Blanc

Sebastien Bobinet and Emiline Calvez are natural winemakers located outside of Saumur in the village of Beaulieu. Developing out of 2 hectares of old-vines inherited from Sebastien’s grandfather, they have expanded to about twice the size, growing local varietals, Cabernet Franc, Cot (aka Malbec), Pineau D’Aunis, and Chenin Blanc. Their vineyards are situated on tuffeau, a soft, white limestone rock, resulting in characteristic acidity. 

Poil de Lievre is a tad wilder take on Chenin, with notes of green apple and pear, meyer lemon, and a distinct bright and grassy character and bracing acidity with just a touch of saline.
